Privacy policy
Privacy Policy
We value and protect the details of our trade customers. This policy explains what information Trade Pave collects when you open a trade account, request a quote or place an order, and how we use it. We handle your information lawfully and in line with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Trade Pave is responsible for your information. You can contact us about privacy at info@tradepave.co.uk
Trade Pave supplies businesses such as merchants, contractors and installers. Company information is not covered by data protection law, but information about the people we deal with is: named contacts, account users, sole traders, partners and directors.
Information we collect
To set up your trade account and process your orders, we need your name, company details, address, phone number, email address, and credit or debit card information.
We need these details to open your account and fulfil your orders. Without them, we can't supply you.
How we use your information
We use your details to run your trade account, process and deliver your orders, keep the records the law requires, and send you trade offers, which you can stop at any time. We do this to fulfil our contract with you, to meet our legal duties, or because it is in our legitimate business interests. We never sell your information.
Delivery addresses
We use third-party hauliers and couriers to deliver orders. We give them only what they need to deliver: the delivery name, site address, postcode and a contact phone number.
If a merchant asks us to deliver directly to its own customer, we use that customer's details only to make and manage the delivery.
Website data
We collect basic data about visits to tradepave.co.uk to understand how many people use it, how it is used and whether there are technical problems. This includes:
- your IP address and internet service provider;
- the date and time of your visit and the pages you view;
- the website that linked you to us;
- your browser and device type.
We use this data in summary form and delete it regularly. Because an IP address can sometimes identify a person, we treat it as personal information.
Cookies
Cookies are small files stored on your device when you visit a website. We use them to keep you logged in, remember your basket and make the site work well.
- Essential cookies are needed for the site to work, so they are always on.
- Analytics cookies help us count visits and improve the site. Where the law allows these without consent, you can still switch them off.
- Advertising cookies are only set if you agree.
You can accept, reject or change your choices at any time using the cookie banner or your browser settings.
Email address and marketing
The email address you give us when you open an account may be used to send you trade offers, product updates and news from Trade Pave.
- If you use a company email address, we may send these as business-to-business marketing.
- If you are a sole trader or partnership, we will only send them if you have bought from us before or have agreed to receive them.
- If we call you about offers, we will first check your number against the Telephone Preference Service.
Every email includes an unsubscribe link. You can also ask us to stop at any time by emailing info@tradepave.co.uk. We will then keep your email on a do-not-contact list so you are not added again.
Payments
Card payments are handled by our secure payment provider. We do not see or store your full card number. If you pay on account, we keep your invoices and payment history to manage your account.
If you apply for a credit account, we may check your business with a credit reference agency. For sole traders, partners and anyone giving a personal guarantee, this may include a personal credit check. We will tell you before we do this.
Who we share your details with
Your details are never sold or passed to other companies for their own marketing. We only share them with:
- delivery companies, to deliver your order;
- payment providers and credit reference agencies, to take payment and check credit accounts;
- IT, website, email and accounting providers who store data for us under contract;
- our professional advisers, and authorities such as HMRC when the law requires it.
Some of these providers store data outside the UK. When they do, we make sure your information has the same level of protection, for example through UK-approved data transfer agreements.
How long we keep it
We keep account, order and invoice records for 6 years after the end of the financial year they relate to, as UK tax law requires. Marketing details are kept until you unsubscribe or stop engaging with us. Website visit data is deleted regularly. When we no longer need your information, we delete it securely.
We protect your information with secure systems, password-protected accounts and limited staff access.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to:
- send you a copy of the information we hold about you;
- correct anything that is wrong or incomplete;
- delete your information, or limit how we use it;
- stop using it for marketing, or stop using it based on our legitimate interests;
- give you your information in a format you can pass to another business.
Where you have given consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
To make a request, email info@tradepave.co.uk. We will reply within one month. We may ask you to confirm your identity first.
Complaints and contact
If you are unhappy with how we have used your information, please contact us first at info@tradepave.co.uk. We will acknowledge your complaint within 30 days and respond as quickly as we can.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page.
